My Fitness Journey (so far...)

My fitness journey really started about a year ago. I had just moved into my first apartment and was missing the food I grew up with. I made steak and mashed potatoes and ate more than one serving. It wasn’t exactly healthy and in a few months, I gained twenty pounds. I shouldn’t have been surprised because I remember my first stay at the hospital and the nurse saying that I had to be careful with a certain pill because it will cause me to gain weight. I scoffed at that notion and didn’t believe her because I had always been skinny and had tried to gain weight since my early high school years and it never happened. But boy was I wrong. In simply a year and a half, I gained almost 50 pounds (49 pounds to be exact). I went from a size 1 to a size 14. I learned from therapy about how to live a holistic lifestyle (I even did a post about it before) and joined a local gym and started to take classes like Pilates and cycling. I started to change how I ate and I slowly started to see the weight come off. Then around October and November, there were some big changes to my life. I enrolled in a Medical Billing and Coding program and earned a part time job so, therefore, I became a bit busier. I convinced myself that I was just too busy to workout. Well, I made it through the program and I still have my job but my weight stayed the same and stuck around 138 pounds. After having more time freed up I just had lost motivation to be healthy again. Then, I slowly started to feel like I could lose weight again by doing home workouts that fit my schedule and I immersed myself into the health world. I’ve learned a lot but I feel like in order to keep growing I should learn even more. One day I would like to be vegan that’s my ultimate goal.  I grew up in a culture where meat is the main focus of meals, especially at BBQs. So it’s hard to train myself to eat only plant based foods but I feel like I can get there by taking baby steps. Right now I’m exactly 134.2 pounds. I think that if I share my journey on here I’ll be more focused to do better at eating clean and working out more often. Therefore, I’m going to upload on Tumblr what I ate daily (I’ll upload what I ate the day before and what type of workout I did for that day too). Thank you for joining me on my fitness journey.
